InteliChart Completes Development Agreement with RelayHealth Expanding Cost-Effective Health System Data Exchange
Partnership Provides Cost-Effective, Standards-Based Acute and Ambulatory Bi-directional Connectivity for Electronic Health Record Systems
ALPHARETTA, Ga.–(InteliChart, Inc. today announced the completion of a development agreement with RelayHealth, establishing cost-effective, integrated healthcare information exchange between hospital and ambulatory settings.)–Leading healthcare information technology provider
“Unfortunately, many organizations are forced to settle for the exchange of documents which makes it difficult to perform analytics. The interoperability suite of interfaces provides usable information for physicians, hospitals and their patients.”
RelayHealth provides a patient-centric interoperable health information exchange platform to its health system customers to help support care coordination throughout the organization and to other local, regional and state exchanges. When paired with InteliChart’s suite of connectivity solutions for patients, providers and their communities, hospitals and practices will experience enhanced connectivity, communications and integration.
“The published meaningful use stage two rule makes it clear that interoperability will be a key need for hospitals and health systems,” said Jeff Felton, RelayHealth president. “Health systems are seeking interoperable answers that don’t require all information-exchanging parties to adopt the same technology. This agreement with InteliChart will help these organizations find the solutions they need.”
Today, many practices are financially unable to participate in the true exchange of health information primarily due to the high costs of vendor interfaces. The InteliChart interoperability suite of interfaces provides an alternative, allowing practices of all sizes to exchange discrete data elements and documents. Through this community exchange process, the overall value of the HIE is increased. RelayHealth’s clients will utilize the related interfaces, including:
- Results for laboratory, radiology and transcription;
- Orders for laboratory and radiology;
- Patient identification (ADT);
- Longitudinal patient record (CCD); and
- Patient engagement (SSI).
“The agreement between RelayHealth and InteliChart is an important step in completing the last mile of connectivity,” said Gary Hamilton, InteliChart president. “Unfortunately, many organizations are forced to settle for the exchange of documents which makes it difficult to perform analytics. The interoperability suite of interfaces provides usable information for physicians, hospitals and their patients.”
